The Human Preservation Project is having yet another round of dead drops for individuals lucky enough to have the day off on Thursday, November 17th. The countdown page is promising that this is the HPP’s biggest expedition yet, so maybe it will be more than first come, first served (but I wouldn’t hold my breath on that).

Although the countdown page doesn’t list the “rules” that were given out on previous missions, it probably wouldn’t be a bad idea to follow them in order to maximize your chances at getting one of the last remaining ice flies.

Test Subjects Needed has updated their Mission Ice Fly website to hint that there will be some kind of dead drop happening in several cities this Thursday.

ATTENTION TEST SUBJECTS: Starting at 00:00:00:00:000 we will need one volunteer in each of the listed locations to follow a signal.

Well the countdown on Flynn Lives hit zero and allowed us to access a new page where they have a list of cities and a place for 66 Operatives to enter codes. Unfortunately, at Zero Hour, only 3 cities had information posted, so if you’re not in Chicago, Orlando or Paris, you’re going to have to keep checking back at the website and hope that you don’t miss the window for your city. Of course, you might be able to game the system a bit by checking to see where the best arcades are in your city and staking them out until the passwords are released.

Update: The Cities have been slowly checked off on the Zero Hour page. I have heard no information about if late comers will still be able to do anything there, so please be aware if you are traveling out of your way to check these sites out.

Over on the Flynn Lives website, there is a countdown that will hit zero on February 24th at 11am EST. Below the countdown there is a slowly revealing list of city names. Current speculation is that things will be happening in those cities when the countdown hits zero, but it’s far too early to tell at this point in time. If you live in or near one of those cities, keep the countdown page or back here for updates within the next 5 days.

 

Update: So the image has completely resolved and all of the cities have been revealed. The original list posted was pretty close to what it finished up to be (the two switches were Detroit -> Denver and Indianapolis -> Minneapolis). We still don’t know what is going to be going on in those cities or exactly where things will be happening, but hopefully an update is on its way so those people who are contemplating taking off work will know if they should or not.

The Bradford Rant Institute of Cosmic Kinesis has been tracking a strange set of seven signals originating from deep space. After decoding the first signal, they discovered that it gave them an ever narrowing set of coordinates that eventually led them to Legoland in Billund, Denmark where they discovered a Lego Pod manned by a alien pilot in stasis.

There are now six more Lego Pods that need to be recovered. The Bradford Rant Institute is “decoding” the signals one at a time, so we only have access to Pod 2′s location information at this point. Because the Lego Pod keep updating their coordinates to a more specific area as they get closer to Earth, right now the only thing we know is that it will be landing somewhere in the Southeastern United States.

Update: New set of map coordinates given on November 24, 2009 places the landing zone somewhere in Florida.

Update 2: The landing zone has been confirmed for Orlando, FL.

As it gets closer, the landing area will shrink until a final location is broadcast. Then it will be time for someone to go and collect the Lego Pod. The Bradford Rant Institute has helpfully provided a set of guidelines to help ensure a safe Lego Pod collection process.

• Each signal transmits a set of map coordinates. The last set shows the exact location of the pod
• We believe the pods are attracted to large amounts of LEGO® bricks and/or imagination
• Once we decipher the last set of map coordinates we will try to inform persons at the location to secure the pod
• If you arrive at a pod location, look for the contact person
• When you find the contact person, tell them the number of the pod you seek, e.g. ‘Pod No.2′. Be sure to write down the Pod ID.
• The first person to arrive at the pod location and tell the contact the correct pod number will receive the pod
• It is still very important for others to make their way to the pod location and record the Pod ID
• Take photos and video footage and send it to us here at Bradford Rant bradfordrant@gmail.com. Your data may help others in their search
• REMEMBER: Always write down the Pod ID!

The Pod ID is very important as it unlocks data in the mainframe computer revealing more information about the origins of the pod.

So, if you’re in the Southeastern US, keep checking back here for updates on the Lego Pod’s location. And if you’re elsewhere in the world, you might want to keep track of updates to this game in case one the other 5 pods decides to land near you.

Okay, here’s the deal. We have two more dead drops based upon the new book tour dates posted at the Farewell Atlantis Facebook page. We know the cities and the dates, but not the actual location. In order to get that, we need at least one person to check out one of the 800+ gas stations during the info drop periods, get the address, and then share it with the group.

It should be noted that Soren Ulfert has totally slacked off on alerting us to when the info drops are occurring. By my calculations, there should be an info drop today, but there has been no mention of it. Soren has also changed the time of the drops the last few times so that there is only a morning session (8a – 12p) instead of an afternoon session as well. Of course, since he hasn’t told us anything lately, this could have changed again. But I have to imagine someone somewhere is in a position where they could just swing by one of the locations without it being too far out of their way.

Update: Soren actually gave a blog update with the dates and times. He’s gone back to the original schedule of 8a-noon two days before the drop and 3-6pm one day before the drop. So to recap:

October 29: 3p – 6p

Anyone with access to one of the 800+ gas stations can retrieve this information.

So, if you live in one of the 15 metro areas listed above, find a gas station near you from the list, swing by today or tomorrow AND Wednesday or Thursday, grab the info and let me know about it. Easiest thing in the world, right?

Sorry for such a short notice, but it doesn’t appear that anyone checked out any of the gas station info drops for the address this weekend. We didn’t get the information until @CharlieFrost tweeted it right before 1pm.

Update: As far as I can tell, no one went to the Miami drop. I don’t know if it was because no one got the address from the gas stations beforehand and then didn’t see Charlie Frost’s tweet about the location, or if there is no one in Miami playing ARGs. Regardless, we don’t have the information and now have to wait a few days for Corruption Theory to get it to us (if he can).

The drop is located at 25.118042, -80.420292. If any other information was given regarding it’s whereabouts, we have not decoded it.

Top men are working to find someone willing and able in the area to retrieve it, so it may be taken before you can get this message out. In previous cases one package contains directions for the next package. This project was started roughly one year ago and was cancelled. It seems to be reinstated, but there is no solid evidence that this PM is the same guy, other than his claims and similar mannerisms. This drop will be proof if it is. Thus, cannot guarantee that drop exists, but spirits are high. Some seem concerned for safety, but the previous PM was more afraid of players than they of him, leading to things such as extreme car chases, and ultimately the ending of the project. Several contacts are in the area, but do not have transportation. One female was able but backed out when she saw the entrance, which appears to be a dirt road leading to the Largo Lodge. Recommend not travelling alone. It is known as the Basin Hills Project, Project 905, or Operation Falcon Punch. Good luck and thanks for the help.

That’s it. That’s all I got. I have no other information on what this game is. Couldn’t find anything on Unfiction at least. And I’m too busy baking cookies for Robot Speed Dating to search further. I would seriously take their advice in not traveling alone and make sure you have someone not on site that you can contact in case you need help.

The PM said it’s been “washed up,” so you can list this as complete.” I guess that means someone somewhere got it and it just didn’t disappear into the æther. I still don’t have a clue as to what this game really is. At least there is a thread on UF for it now, although at the moment, it only contains 3 posts.
