So – I got it and twitpic’d it all but while #frenziedwaters tweet/acknowledged my initial report they haven’t acknowlegded my twitpics of everything. But they found the blog post of the one who beat me to the vintage clothing store in Georgetown.

My drop was at a purveryor of antique house fixtures: The Brass Knob. Full of lovely old doorknobs, switchplates, chandeliers and so on. Quite lovely.

I’m kind of bummed now that I’ve found out that all series jars are the same, instead of each containing different artifacts. Also, only one code per series actually unlocks a video on the site — it’s whoever gets there first.

I thought that finding a jar would help unravel part of the story, open new videos, add to the layers of fiction, etc. which is why I went to the pickups as soon as I found out there were some in my town. It’s very cool to have these jars, but I wish they actually contributed something to the tale.

Aliendial, try that boutique on that corner actually. I read one person found theirs in a designer boutique so it might be there.

A few have also been in antique shops. If there isn’t a store/shop that’s marine related look for an antique shop. Most of them seem to be indoors, so ask about the Shark Week/Discovery Channel Scavenger Hunt when you find your suspected shop.

I asked at the scuba shop I found mine at (called beforehand actually) and they confirmed they had it.

Aliendial: Based on what I’ve seen so far, 2 have been in dive shops and 1 was at the South Street Seaport, so I’m guessing possibly things having to do with diving or water or fish in some way. Beyond that, I have no advice.

Update – took a quick run to the Georgetown location – a couple blocks down from a movie theater with payphones (:P). Tried two stores and a restaurant, no dice. Do we have any more info about the likely locations? Because there were office buildings I did not try, a park I did not search (who plants suspicious containers in a park in DC?), and I stayed within a block either way of the GPS location.

Any input appreciated!
