Secret Lewis – Live Event – Bangalore, Gurgaon, Mumbai (India)

Game: Secret Lewis
Type: Live Event
Location: Bangalore, Gurgaon, and Mumbai (India)
Date: Saturday, 4th September, 4pm-8:30pm
Status: Incomplete

The Secret Lewis team’s latest case is to track down a stolen Leonardo da Vinci notebook. In order to accomplish this quickly, they are cashing in their favor from the Intelligence Service. The electronic surveillance division in India has agreed to have something for us on Saturday. But since they don’t like meeting people face-to-face where their cover can be blown, players will have to track them down. Three Reebok stores in India have agreed to help guide us to the agents from the Intelligence Service.

Just go to one of the following locations, alone or with friends, at any point during the times indicated:

  • Bangalore – Reebok Store, No.50, Residency Road. [Saturday 4 September, 4.00pm-8.30pm.]
  • Gurgaon – Reebok Store, Shop No. 32-33, Ground Floor, Ambience Mall, NH – 8. [Saturday 4 September, 4.00pm-8.30pm.]
  • Mumbai – Reebok Store, Shop No. 1, 2, 3 & 4, Ram Krishna Chambers (Next to Ram Krishna Lane) Linking Road. [Saturday 4 September, 4.00pm-8.30pm.]

Reports from the London events indicated that a fun time was had following the clues to the end. Plus, if that’s not enough for you, Reebok has “agreed to provide incentives and rewards for taking part,” so maybe you can get lucky and get a free pair of shoes while having a fun afternoon.

Dexter – Info Drop – Philadelphia, PA

Game: Dexter / Serial Huntress
Type: Info Drop
Location: Philadelphia, PA
Date: Information left Friday, August 27th
Status: Incomplete

The serial killer f8 left another video blog at the Sleep Superbly site that players believe point to him leaving a clue in a Philadelphia Classifieds section.

f8: Uhm, not really. I’ve been a little behind, but, I picked up a local newspaper this morning so I am starting to catch up. There are some crazy, crazy people out there. Even the classifieds seemed bizarre.

At the end of the video, you can see that he’s wearing a Philadelphia t-shirt which is why players are concentrating on that city. On the Serial Huntress forums, players have said that they have looked through online editions of the Philadelphia Inquirer and Craigslist, but have not found anything of real interest so far. They’re hoping that someone with physical access to a newspaper might have more luck.

If you do find something interesting, please let them know at the Serial Huntress boards or in one of the IRC rooms (#serialhuntress / #safehaven).

Dexter – Live Event – Los Angeles, CA

Game: Dexter / Serial Huntress
Type: Live Event
Location: 34° 2′ 19″ N, 118° 13′ 4″ W, near Hollenbeck Park / the abandoned Linda Vista Hospital in Los Angeles (Boyle Heights)
Date: Friday, August 27, 2010, in the afternoon
Status: Concluded

The players of the Dexter / Serial Huntress ARG were given a video that lead them to a new website that gave them some interesting recipes to try out.

Beef Chili To Die For
1. Brown the meat in a large skillet with vegetable oil. Add water then simmer covered for an hour until meat is tender.
2. Heat oil in medium saucepan. Add canned kidney beans, oregano, celery, onion and green pepper, then sauté for 2 minutes.
3. Add garlic-onion-flour mixture to cooked meat. Then add remaining ingredients to meat mixture. Simmer for a half hour.
4. Let soup sit and cool to about 34 °C
5. Stir for approximately 19 seconds then indulge in your meal.

Hearty Veal Roast
1. Mix together salt, pepper and cinnamon, then rub over roast.
2. Heat a teaspoon of oil in a large skillet. Add onions, garlic, parsley thyme and tarragon. Mix together then set aside.
3. Use a pan large enough to hold all ingredients. Cover then bake at 118 °C for a long time – over an hour.
4. Uncover pan and continue baking for 13 minutes.
5. Transfer meat to serving platter. Skim fat from cooking juices then pour over roast.
6. Cut roast to desired serving size then, using a fork and knife, cut a small piece off. Blow for 4 seconds then taste your hearty meal.

This is my Friday afternoon special. I hope you enjoy it. And remember, using different cooking equipment may yield different results, so be sure to check-in on your meal.

Using the numbers in the recipes (degrees, minutes, seconds), the players came up with a GPS coordinate: 34° 2′ 19″ N, 118° 13′ 4″ W. This is near Hollenbeck Park in Los Angeles. It’s also right next to the abandoned Linda Vista Hospital, which is now used primarily as a filming location, which makes it an ideal setting for an event in a serial killer ARG.

The recipe says this is a “Friday afternoon special,” but doesn’t give any specific time or directions on what to do once you get there (besides checking in I guess). Seems odd for it to be so vague considering Friday is a workday, but it’s possible that more information will be forthcoming in the next 24 hours.

Male Carrla – Dead Drop – Nashua, NH

Game: Male Carrla
Type: Dead Drop
Location: Nashua, NH
Date: July 26, 2010 12:00 – 15:00
Status: Concluded

Over the past few days, members of the Unfiction forums had been trying to decipher an email from someone calling themselves Male Carrla. The solution to the puzzle seemed to indicate that it was a waste of time, however the players were told to expect something new soon. That something new turned out to be a Tumblr site that promised a series of dead drops:

:: First stop: Nashua, NH ETA: 7/26/10 12:00-15:00

So let’s move on. Once I get close enough to the targeted time, I shall disclose where the first drops will 7be. It will be controlled by a first come first serve basis. Anybody interested in it can come by and pick it up. Checking out once again, I’m hoping to see you all on the battle field.

So far that is all the information given, though more information should be coming tomorrow (if there really is a dead drop that is). So if you’re in the Nashua area (or just like over cryptic and enigmatic emails with no real purpose) you might want to keep an eye on the UF thread. Just be smart if you do go and pick up a drop. I wouldn’t recommend going to a secluded forest by yourself or anything like that.

Conspiracy for Good – Dead Drop – Santa Monica, CA

Game: Conspiracy for Good
Type: Dead Drop
Location: 1720 Ocean Park Blvd, Santa Monica, CA (34.01234, -118.46598)
Date: dropped sometime before July 7, 2010
Status: Concluded

There has been a series of “Points of Interest” appearing on the Conspiracy for Good’s Map page. It has been determined that there are Blackwell Briggs Database Extraction CDs being hidden at these locations. Three (Germany, Denmark and Sweden) have already been picked up. A fourth was discovered last night (July 7th) in Santa Monica with the address of 1720 Ocean Park Blvd.

There has been no confirmation that this CD has been retrieved. It doesn’t appear as if the completed Points of Interest are marked off on the map, but no one has reported anything about the Santa Monica drop to either the chat or the Unfiction forums, so it’s possible that it is still active.

At least two of the previous drops were fairly well hidden, so make sure you look around. Stefan posted video of his find to Youtube. jchillerup posted pictures of his cache that he found after a hint from imnotamember1 on Youtube.

If you do manage to get this cache, please make sure to let the other non-members of the CFG know so that multiple people don’t try to find it after it’s been claimed.

Secret Lewis – Live Event – London

Game: Secret Lewis
Type: Live Event
Location: TenderPixel Gallery, London
Date: Saturday, July 10, 1-6pm
Status: Concluded

The latest mission of Secret Lewis is having a live event this Saturday in London. Lewis Hamilton needs our help in tracking down a forged Frank Kline painting so that he can recover the genuine painting, stolen by a cultural attaché, without causing a diplomatic incident.

Anna has requested that people meet at the TenderPixel Gallery between 1-6pm on Saturday, July 10th. It’s on Cecil Court near Leicester Square. No word on what you’ll actually be doing during the mission. Maybe tracking spies through the city in an easier way that doesn’t require you to try and watch 3 red blips at once. Took me forever to complete Mission 7 a second time (Firefox crashed after my first success).

Conspiracy for Good – Live Event – London

Game: Conspiracy for Good
Type: Live Event
Location: Traitors Gate, Thames North Riverbank, London
Date: July 17, 2010 Event: 12.00 – 18.00 Party: 21.00 – late
Status: Concluded

The Conspiracy for Good is having a series of London live events over the next few weeks. Registered participants will be given “a device equipped with GPS and image-recognition software” to use during the missions so that they can find the streaming videos and hidden clues throughout London in an attempt to help the CFG expose Blackwell Briggs.

The first event is called “Get Her In!” and requires CFG members to create a street diversion to allow Nadirah to get away from the Blackwell Briggs security agents.

Date: July 17, 2010
Location: Traitors Gate, Thames North Riverbank, London
Time: 12.00 – 18.00
Party: 21.00 – late

She has crossed thousands of miles, to expose Blackwell Briggs. Meet Nadirah at the Thames21 For Shore mud larking, at the Traitors Gate, on the Thames North Riverbank. Create a street diversion, so she can disappear in the crowd. Security guards will hunt you, as you search for the Conspiracy For Good in London.

Registration is required for the event (presumably because Nokia only has a limited number of phones to lend out), but it’s free and should be quite fun.

Conspiracy for Good – Live Event – Berlin

Game: Conspiracy for Good
Type: Live Event
Location: Berlin, Germany

The Non-Members of the Conspiracy for Good have been trying to track down a woman named Nadirah and a contract that has been obtained by an agent of Blackwell Briggs. They have tracked both to Berlin and are in need of local assistance to track them down.

All the latest indications are pointing to both Nadirah and the contract being in Berlin, and we need all the help we can get from all able and willing souls in the area to find her. We are going to do a more organized search tomorrow evening, so if you live in the area, or know your way around it and are able to identify places, send an email to lowkey@conspiracyforgood.com and include your mail and/or your phone number so that we might contact you if we find any leads to the location of either her or the contract.
